The practice has been known as "Pritchard the Vet" since 1945 when my father bought the practice from his boss "Jones the Vet", a typical Welsh phenomenon. I took over from my father in 1974.
The practice operated from premises in Park Street, Denbigh from 1922 up to 1993 when I moved it to its current location on the Colomendy Industrial Estate.
This move, to larger premises with a large car park, was a timely one as the narrow street and one-way system in the town were causing problems with access and parking.
The larger building means I have room for modern diagnostic equipment, laboratory, operating theatres, consulting rooms, kennels, cages etc. which are the prerequisites of an up to date Veterinary Centre. There is also a large car park.
In 1985 I opened a branch surgery in St Asaph to cater for the increasing number of small animal clients in that area.
From the beginning I made it a priority to provide the best level of care for all my patients. To allow this, I am continually updating the equipment and general facilities, as well as employing sufficient staff to ensure the highest standards of care. There are currently fifteen on the payroll, including five vets.
I hope I have achieved my aims - whilst maintaining the friendly and professional service which had become a tradition of the practice known as "Pritchard the Vet".
